1. What made you feel connected to DeSales?

I went on a campus tour the summer before my senior year of high school. My parents and I loved the school. The best way to describe this would be a love-at-first-sight kind of thing.

We had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Krupka, who is a biology professor here and he was awesome. The reasons I fell in love with the school would have to be the professors, the staff, and the hominess and comfortable feeling it gave.

2. What made you want to study biology?

After college, I plan on going to medical school. I love learning about the human body and the environment. Also, in middle school and high school, I developed this love and passion for the field of biology because I took a class in middle school and it was awesome.

3. What DeSales core value do you embody most and why?

Humility. I always try to help others and try my best to be as active in my community as possible.

4. Describe your Orientation and first-year experience so far.

Orientation was awesome and really fun; I got to meet a lot of new people. My mentor is the best; she always answers my questions. Classes have also been going really well, and I haven’t found any difficulties yet.

5. Advice for future Leadership Scholarship applicants?

Be yourself.

The Leadership Scholarship is a full-tuition scholarship offered to six students who have shown outstanding leadership in their high school careers and who plan to continue to develop those skills at DeSales. The deadline to submit your application, essay, and resume is Friday, December 1, 2023.
