  • Adjunct Faculty Positions in the ACCESS Program

    Share your experience and expertise with our highly motivated adult students. Adjunct faculty positions available to teach evenings and online in our ACCESS Program (bachelor's degree program for adult students). A Master's degree in the appropriate discipline and teaching experience using technology are required to teach in the following disciplines:

    • Accounting - financial accounting, managerial accounting, federal income taxation, corporate financial reporting, and regulation
    • Economics
    • Finance
    • Healthcare Administration - economic and fiscal issues, strategic management and marketing, legal aspects, quality and outcomes management, ethics
    • Psychology

  • Adjunct Faculty: Biology – Anatomy and Physiology

    The Department of Natural Science at DeSales University is seeking an adjunct faculty member to teach Anatomy and Physiology lecture and laboratory in the ACCESS Program for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. The “hybrid” course will feature online lectures and in-person laboratories taught at our Center Valley campus. Teaching experience using technology is preferred. M.S. in Biology is a minimum requirement.

  • Adjunct Faculty: Digital Art

    The Department of Mathematics/Computer Science is seeking applications for an adjunct instructor to teach course(s) in Digital Art for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. 

    Responsibilities include teaching traditional day courses at the DeSales University main campus in Center Valley, PA.

    The digital art adjunct will teach about story development, creating storyboards and animatics for introductory students. 

    Additional teaching opportunities may be available for candidates with knowledge of Graphic Design (Adobe Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, and InDesign CC) and/or Web Design (HTML5 and CSS3, WordPress or Dreamweaver CC). 

    Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree and previous teaching experience is preferred.

  • MBA Adjunct Faculty Positions

    Share your experience and expertise with our highly motivated MBA students.  MBA  classes run once a week from 6:00 – 9:30 pm on Mon-Thurs.  Adjunct faculty positions available in the following disciplines:  Accounting, Finance, Business Computing, Project Management.  Teaching slots more readily available in Pocono and Lansdale campuses as well as online. A Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline is required;  teaching experience using technology (Angel, Blackboard, etc) preferred.

Medical Plans

DeSales University offers a choice of medical plans through Highmark: PPO Blue Plan (zero deductible), PPO Blue Plan with a deductible ($500/$1500 maximum per family deductible). The University contributes various dollar amounts toward health care premiums. Coverage is available the first of the month after a full-time employee’s date of hire. 

According to the DeSales University Spousal Coordination of Benefits Policy, Spouses of employees are ineligible for University coverage in any health care insurance plan if such spouse is eligible for coverage at his/her place of employment. This is also true for adult children under the age of 26 who are eligible for coverage.

Life Insurance

DeSales University provides group term life insurance to all full-time employees. The amount of this policy is equal to 1.5 times the employee's annual salary to a maximum of $250,000 (amount reduces after age 70). Employees complete an initial beneficiary designation upon hire and may update it at any time.

Dental Plan

DeSales University offers dental insurance through United Concordia. The employee pays the entire premium for dental care.

Retirement Plans

Regular and group supplemental retirement plans are offered through TIAA-CREF. Participation may begin on the first day of the month following employment. After one year of service, the University will contribute 8% with a minimum employee contribution of 4%. Investment options include annuity; bond fund; equity index fund; global fund; real estate fund; growth fund; money market; social choice or stock fund.

Flexible Spending Plan

DeSales University offers employees the option to participate in a flexible spending account (FSA) through Payflex. This plan permits employees to pay for certain health care and day care expenses before-tax dollars. Contact human resources for complete details. The plan allows current participants to monitor and administer their plan through the Payflex website.

Long-Term Disability Insurance

DeSales University provides a group long-term disability (LTD) policy for all full-time employees on the first day of the month following one year of continuous service. The University pays the entire LTD premium to the carrier. 

Tuition Benefits

DeSales University offers tuition remission benefits as well as tuition exchange and CIC scholarship opportunities.

Discount on prepared food and beverages from DeSales University Dining (when using a University Card). 

The University Library is available for use by staff members.

Athletic Facilities are available to staff members for their use at times when the facilities are not being used by the University or by authorized rentals. Spouses of employees are also eligible.

Effective immediately and in accordance with Pennsylvania Act 153, all new faculty and staff at DeSales University whose position with the University has been determined to potentially have direct contact or routine interaction with individuals under 18 years of age must successfully complete a background check, including a Criminal History Report from the Pennsylvania State Police, a Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services and a fingerprint, based criminal history submitted through the FBI as a condition of employment. Additional background checks may be required based on the specific requirements of the position.
