As the newest member of the Trexler Library team, Ed Zimmerman comes to DeSales with 35 years of Higher Education experience, 29 of them being library centric. His professional career during those 35 years has followed three parallel paths: library science, leadership, and technology. He has a strong belief in the value of lifelong learning, having completed two master’s degrees in Organizational Leadership and Library and Information Science within the last ten years.  Ed is excited to partner with faculty to make the learning experience at DeSales a rich one!

Faith, family, and friends are the most important things in Ed's life. He and his wife, Jamie, have four children—two sons and two daughters—and their lovable dog, Shelby. In his free time, he enjoys his hobby of music, playing the guitar, mandolin, and bass in his small music studio. When he is not strumming an instrument, he can be found in his small workshop building furniture.

Ed’s final thoughts on his new adventure here at DeSales: “God leads us, even when we do not know His entire plan. I am thankful He has led me to DeSales University, and I hope to serve you well as His plan unfolds.”

Trexler Library is excited to welcome Ed Zimmerman to Trexler Library and the DeSales Community!

Ed can be reached at ed.zimmerman@desales.edu and at ext. 1253.
