Accelerated MBA Program

DeSales University is giving recent college graduates and business professionals looking to change careers the chance to earn a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in just one year.

The University is launching a new accelerated online MBA program beginning in August. Students with a business-related undergraduate degree can complete the program in 12 months. Those without a business background must complete three, six-week sessions of business foundation courses, which are offered at a 10 percent discount this summer. Those students will complete their degree in 15 months.

“Our program will offer 13 elective focus areas, including healthcare management, supply chain management, data analytics, and project management.”

Dr. Karen Kent, Director of the MBA Program

Karen Kent, director of the MBA program, has deep experience working as an educator in a full-time cohort program. With the job market taking a hit amid the Coronavirus pandemic, Kent thought it was a natural time to offer this accelerated program.

“Our faculty are excited and ready to launch the program,” she says. “Our program will offer 13 elective focus areas, including healthcare management, supply chain management, data analytics, and project management. Our faculty are made up of deeply experienced executives across many industries; students will have the opportunity to work, learn, and grow under the guidance of the finest business educators in their fields.”

The program will have an emphasis on experiential learning, allowing students to interact and learn from business executives. Students will also serve as the DeSales MBA Consulting Team and work with companies on real-world projects. The program will also join forces with the DeSales Career Development Center to provide free bi-weekly seminars in career development support.

“These unique seminars will help students discover career fields, hone their executive skills, and explore their leadership styles—all designed to prepare our students for their best futures,” says Kent.

Classes will be a mixture of asynchronous and synchronous online formats. Students can apply without submitting GMAT scores but they must have at least a 3.0 GPA for all previous coursework. Admission preference will be given to students who successfully completed at least one internship or those with career-related job experience. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through August 2020.

The DeSales University MBA program is a leader in online education, ranking on U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 list of Best Online MBA Programs and on the Best Online MBA Program for Veterans list for 2020. It’s also one of the most affordable private-school tuitions in the region.
