“The recognition ceremony brings them full circle,” says Dr. Kay Malek, director of the DPT program. “These students spent the last three years together, day in and day out. This ceremony allows them to come together one last time and to say thank you to their family and the faculty.”

During the ceremony, students received certificates of completion and took the oath of a physical therapist. The following students were also recognized with awards: Lindsey Yeager received the professional excellence award; Brittany Gumerman took home the academic excellence award; Thomas Brozoski accepted the clinical excellence award; Kyle Fry, Brittany Gumerman, Kevin Pressley, and Alyssa Whitman won the research excellence award; and Cassondra Ondeck received the Salesian spirit award.

The students will receive their degrees on September 1 and take the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) at the end of October.
