Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Happy New Year!  I hope your holidays were restful and you found time to celebrate and connect with your loved ones, whether in-person or virtually.

We have emailed the following documents to faculty:

  • Academic Calendar for Spring 2021 and a list of meetings for the semester
  • Instructions for Drafting a Course Syllabus (revised 1.7.2021)
  • Return to Campus Academic Guidelines for Faculty, providing clarity for issues faced during classroom instruction in the fall semester (a similar guide will be disseminated to traditional day undergraduate students)

Note: if you need the document files referenced in this message, please contact

Additional COVID guidelines are being prepared by Dr. Jerry Joyce and the Covid Response Team; information about these is forthcoming. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

While we are just over one week into the new year, our world continues to face uncertainty and discord.  However, our patron reminds us of the hope that abounds: hope in the divine and hope in each other, as we persevere and move forward.  In one of his spiritual letters written as a new year began, Saint Francis de Sales writes:

O Jesus, fill our hearts with Your divine name, so that Your gentle kindness may influence all our senses and perfume all our actions.

I pray this new year, and the new semester which is just over three weeks away, will be one surrounded by such gentle kindness.

With best wishes,
Brother Daniel P. Wisniewski, O.S.F.S., Ph.D.
