Michael J. Gallagher, Ph.D. is an associate professor and chair of the accounting major in the Division of Business at DeSales University. He teaches Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Corporate Accounting I, Strategic Cost Management, and Business Capstone. He also teaches three MBA courses, including Financial and Managerial Accounting, International Accounting and Governmental and Not-for-Profit Accounting.

Mike received his Ph.D. in higher education with an emphasis in accounting and research from the University of Toledo. He received his MBA and BS in accounting from Lebanon Valley College. His research interests include financial statement analysis at private colleges and universities and economic analysis of Peru.

Dr. Gallagher has also been the assistant controller at Lebanon Valley College and the budget director for the Office of International Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

Mike has been married over 30 years to Karen Gallagher and has three children, Kathleen, Michael, and Emily. Kathleen has a master's degree in environmental engineering from Villanova University and works as a civil engineer at Langan Engineering in Bethlehem, PA. Michael is a Clinical Psychologists. Emily is a CPA who is working towards her Master's in Data Analytics degree at Temple University.
