Leana Janukowicz is a Nursing Instructor in the Division of Nursing. She is responsible for teaching the Mental Health Nursing course for traditional, accelerated, and ACCESS undergraduate nursing students. Additionally, she teaches some of the Clinical Nurse Specialist courses in the graduate program.

Leana has varied experience in the mental health field, including working as a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist in the state hospital system, as well as various community mental health programs. She has been working at a short-term psychiatric crisis residence for the past 10 years and enjoys assisting patients in this setting. Her true passion lies in teaching. She began her teaching career in 1997 as a clinical instructor and has worked in various capacities as a clinical instructor and lecturer since then. Leana recalls the many nursing instructors that helped her along the way, and hopes to offer the same support to her nursing students at DeSales University. 

Leana received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Delaware and her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.

She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, Mu Omicron Chapter.
