Dr. Kristin P. Solimani is an assistant professor of clinical nursing and Director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at DeSales University. She is a seasoned healthcare professional with a distinguished career spanning over 11 years, during which she has specialized in emergency medicine and psychiatry.

She has dual board certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMNNP) and holds national certifications from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She holds licensure in Texas and Pennsylvania. Dr. Solimani earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler, followed by a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from Baylor University. She completed a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch. During her doctoral studies, she developed a pioneering research model focused on addiction. She completed her post-masters PMHNP certification at Johns Hopkins University where she received prestigious training in psychiatry across the lifespan, honing skills in inpatient and outpatient settings. She has extensive clinical background in adolescent and adult psychiatry in both inpatient and outpatient settings across North Texas. With a passion for providing comprehensive care in the field of psychiatry, she is the proud founder of City Psychiatry, a private outpatient practice specializing in adolescent and adult psychiatry.

Dr. Solimani has teaching experiencing at the undergraduate and graduate levels at DeSales University and Dublin City University, where she taught in Saudi Arabia at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahamn University. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP), and Texas Nurses Association (TNA). She serves on the DeSales University Graduate Admissions and Standards Committee.
