Salesian Center to Host 13th Annual Heritage Week Celebration

The Salesian Center for Faith & Culture will host the 13th annual Heritage Week at DeSales University, a series of events celebrating the legacy of St. Francis de Sales, patron of DeSales University.  All the events, except for Sunday’s Mass which will take place in Connelly Chapel, will take place in the DeSales University Center on the DeSales campus in Center Valley.  All events are free and open to the public and run Sunday, January 21 through Thursday, January 25. No tickets are required. 

The lineup of speakers for Heritage Week begins with the Mass of St. Francis de Sales at 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 21, in Connelly Chapel at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa. Our guest homilist will be THE MOST REVEREND ALFRED SCHLERT,D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of the Diocese of Allentown.  

On Monday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the DeSales University Center, our special guest speaker for the Biomedical Ethics Forum is YVONNE FLORCZAK-SEEMAN, author, anti-abortion activist, and educator. The topic of discussion will be ‘The Dignity of Woman, I Am Pro-Woman’ recognizing the 45th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision of Roe v Wade. 

Tuesday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. we welcome ELLEN M. KRAFT,Esquire, active member of the Northampton County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations to speak at our Law & Society Forum in the DeSales University Center.  

On Wednesday, January 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the DeSales University Center, we will host the Town Hall on Social Communications featuring PATRICK  NOVECOSKY, publicist, author, journalist, and communicator who will speak about ‘Finding Truth in a World of Fake News.’

The week closes on Thursday, January 25 at 8:00 p.m. with the R. Wayne and Joan Kraft Memorial Lecture with our special guest FR. THOMAS KEVIN KRAFT, OP discussing the influence of St. Francis de Sales in the married  spirituality of Elisabeth Leseur.
