The Forum for Ethics in the Workplace will host an ethics breakfast at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, March 14 2013, in the University Center on the DeSales campus in Center Valley. This event, titled; ‘Ads in All the Wrong Places?’ will discuss the possibility of living in a society where everything is up for sale with featured guests Mike Drabenstott, principal, Spark public relations and advertising firm, and Robert Fehnel, president, Easton Area School Board.
Fr. Thomas Dailey, OSFS '81, director of the Salesian Center for Faith and Culture at DeSales University, explains that this topic focuses on a subject that surrounds us every day. “With sides of buses and webpages being sold as ad space, the panelists will consider what is off limits, where the line is and when the line can be crossed, in getting advertisements into our lives.”
Drabenstott previously worked as the manager of public relations for swb&r from 1999 – 2003 as well as serving as internal communications specialist for Lutron Electronics in 1999. Before that Drabenstott was the manager of public relations for Lieberman-Appalucci Advertising. He received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University in 1990.
Fehnel previously served on the Wilson Area School Board, including 20 years as president, before resigning in 2009 to move to Palmer Township.
Breakfast attendees will have an opportunity to interact with the presenters and engage with others on the topic. Participants will enjoy a buffet breakfast and table discussions based on the keynote address. Registration and breakfast is $25 per person or $175 for a table of 8.
