Nationally Syndicated Author To Discuss Faith and Relationships at Year of Faith Event

As part of the Year of Faith campaign, the Salesian Center for Faith and Culture at DeSales University is hosting a symposium on faith and relationships with special guest Erika Bachiochi, J.D., nationally syndicated author and speaker; moderated by Anne Lewis, professor of theatre at DeSales University. This town hall discussion will take place at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the University Center at DeSales University’s Center Valley campus. This event, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Diocese of Allentown. No tickets are required.

Bachiochi is a member of the Catholic Women's Forum of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Middlebury College in 1996; received her master’s in theology at Boston College in 1999; and graduated magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 2002. Bachiochi participated at the Tertio Millennio Seminar (1998) and conferences held by the Acton Institute (1998), the Liberty Fund (1999) and the Institute for Justice (2000); she is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar.

A book sale and signing of Bachiochi’s book, Women, Sex, and the Church, will take place following the discussion.

The Salesian Center for Faith & Culture, in collaboration with the Diocese of Allentown, has planned a series of events to celebrate the Year of Faith, which began on October 11, 2012 and will end on the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King, on 24 November 2013. The opening of this special year also marks the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the twentieth anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
