What Sets a DeSales First-Year Student Apart?

Welcome class of 2016 

We asked the incoming freshman what they accomplished in high school. Below are their answers. The accomplishments include, but are not limited to:

I took the role of a captain of the lacrosse team and lead them to some victories.

I’m writing a book.

I finished writing a novel.

I have earned 11 varsity letters and maintained over a 4.0 GPA.

I met Bill Cosby.

Through dance, I’ve done a lot of charitable work and helped raise thousands of dollars to help the community. Also started the LCHS dance team, did all choreography and did benefit performances.

LCHS Class of 2012 Highest Grade in Economics II

Making 100 subs at Subway in 5 hours

Winning District title for wrestling team

On a physics team that is in the top third in the state

I have been to Germany 6 times.

I canoed over 50 miles in Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes.

I was V.P. of Senior High drama club.

Two career grand slam

I was media student of the year at my school as a senior.

I own my own business, which is why I am going to school, to make it legitimate.

I was the youngest producer of our TV station at school.

I’m an Eagle Scout. I’ve earned 3 Eagle Palms beyond that.

I’ve built PC’s since I was little.

I was the senior teen president of Jack & Jill of America New Castle County 2011-12.

I’m a preventive medicine specialist in the Army National Guard.

Lead actress in the Shakespeare play

I achieved a first black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

I am the first to go to college in my family.

My softball team made it 5th in Nationals over the summer.

Completed medical careers class (class at hospital) I’ve shadowed in almost every unit in hospital including a surgical team

I made the sports’ wall at Christopher Dock for bowling.

I directed my 6 other siblings in a summer play that we performed for many friends and family.

I received academic honors and the patriotism award at my high school graduation.

Being cast as Eponine in Les Miserables at my high school

Being able to speak during my high school graduation this year

I am CPR/1st aid certified.

I performed with a select group of high schools in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Living in 6 states

I won best dancer at my high school.

I am a senior project student and I planned an entire even this year to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Association: Raised 2,014.15
