Admission Requirements

When to Apply

We encourage you to apply early in your senior year. At DeSales, we use a rolling admissions system. This means that you will be notified promptly about your admissions status - usually within four weeks of our receipt of your completed application.

Priority deadline for scholarship consideration is December 1 of your senior year.

December 15 is the deadline to complete your application file for the following majors:
• Medical Studies / Physician Assistant
• Health Science / Physical Therapy

Admission to DeSales University is based on your past academic achievement as well as your potential for future growth.

DeSales University is especially interested in students who have demonstrated significant achievement within a demanding curriculum. Quality of academic performance is the single most important factor in the decision-making process. DeSales University welcomes applications from all qualified students regardless of race, religion, sex, national, or ethnic origin.

There is no single preferred high school academic program, but a college preparatory course of study is highly recommended.

For example: four years of English, three or four years of college preparatory mathematics; a minimum of two years of modern, foreign, or classical language; and at least two laboratory science courses.

Results from your SAT I or ACT must be forwarded to the Admissions Office.
The following majors are SAT optional: Dance, Early Childhood & Elementary Education, Marriage & Family StudiesPhilosophy, Psychology, Spanish, Sport and Exercise PhysiologySport Management, TheologyUndecided/Exploratory Studies.

Applications and scheduled dates for these exams can be obtained from your high school guidance office.

Most students in the high school classes of 2016 and 2017 will take different SAT tests. The College Board’s SAT Score Converter is the official tool for comparing old and new SAT scores. It uses a method called concordance to estimate how you might have scored on a different test. Convert your SAT scores »

You will automatically be considered for scholarships upon receipt of your completed application to DeSales University.

You will receive maximum consideration if you apply to DeSales University by December 1. Scholarships are awarded regardless of financial need. Funds for scholarships are limited, so we encourage students to apply early.

A personal, on-campus interview is strongly recommended, but is not required.

We encourage you to visit so that you'll have a chance to learn more about DeSales, and we'll have the opportunity to learn more about you, too.  Schedule a visit »
