  Prior to coming to DeSales University, Dr. Bricker taught undergraduate and graduate courses in criminal justice at Shippensburg University for ten years. He developed and directed the forensic science concentration at Shippensburg, and has nine years of experience as a municipal police officer and tri-county drug task force detective.

  Dr. Bricker's teaching interests include: criminology, victimology, research methods, policing, criminal investigation and forensic science/criminalistics. He has published several articles and book chapters on various issues in law enforcement, and written technical reports for police agencies as a consultant.

  Sally is a retired United States probation office serving as officer-in-charge of the Allentown office and as a unit supervisor in Philadelphia. Sally has 25 years experience in corrections where she had direct supervision of a wide range of offenders including outlaw motorcycle gang members, sex offenders, and financial fraud. She served as liaison with the F.B.I. and the federal residential re-entry centers. Sally assisted in the development of the nationally recognized prisoner re-entry program utilized in the eastern district of Pennsylvania. Sally remains an active member of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association.

  Her research interests include sentencing practices and the effect of outside variables such as the pre-sentence investigation report, as well as sex offending behaviors. She worked as a Special Agent for the Division of Criminal Investigation in South Dakota for a year and a half, with the primary duty of drug investigations and as a probation officer in California for three years with the primary duty of preparing pre-sentence investigation reports. Since moving to the East Coast in 2008, she has taught at various area universities as an adjunct and visiting professor. 

• Lyle, Douglas P., M.D.

  D. P. Lyle, MD is the Macavity Award winning and Edgar Award nominated author of the non-fiction books, Murder and Mayhem, Forensics For Dummies, and Forensics and Fiction as well as the thrillers, Devil's Playground and Double Blind. His most recent book is Howdunnit: Forensics: A Guide For Writers. He is a practicing Cardiologist in Orange County, California, and has worked with the writers of popular television shows such as Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Diagnosis: Murder, Monk, Judging Amy, Cold Case, House, Medium, and Women's Murder Club.

  Dr. Martineau has over twenty-five years of teaching at the college level at Shenandoah College, Rutgers University-Camden, and DeSales University. 

  Fields of primary interest include American politics, social theory, theories of justice, and the relationship between socioeconomic structures of power and criminal justice policy in the United States.

  Gregg entered on duty as a Special Agent with the FBI in 1969 and retired in 1995. He served in various investigative capacities throughout the United States and served as a Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit from 1988-1995. While with the unit, he constructed behavioral profiles, and provided analysis regarding a wide range of crimes including extortions, stalking, product tampering, sex crimes and homicide. He has conducted research regarding sex offenders, bombers, extortionists, child killers and other types of criminals and crimes. He has provided expert witness testimony in North America and Europe and has testified before Select Senate Committees on Sexual Violence in New York State and Massachusetts. He has consulted on thousands of cases throughout North America, Central America, Europe and Asia. Gregg has provided expert commentary to ABC, NBC, CBS, Cable News Network (CNN), The Discovery Channel, Larry King Live, The New York Times, Time, Newsweek and numerous other media nationally and internationally. He currently works as an independent contractor for the Threat Assessment Group (TAG) and Park Dietz and Associates, a forensic litigation group, both headquartered in Newport Beach, California.

  He spent ten years on active duty in the U.S. Navy serving as an electronic countermeasures officer flying on the aircraft carrier based EA-6B airplane.

  He is presently employed as Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI with experience investigating white collar and cyber crimes. He has been certified for over ten years as a FBI computer forensic examiner with certifications in Windows, Macintosh, Unix and Cellular telephone examinations. He is currently the director of the Philadelphia Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory.

  Prior to teaching at DeSales, Ms. Moore practiced law at Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta, Georgia. Her specialties included antitrust litigation, white collar crime and business litigation.
  
  Ms. Moore currently serves as the pre-law advisor for all students at DeSales interested in pursing a career in law.  Her teaching interests include criminal law, the American legal system and legal writing and research. 

• Nilsen, Richard, M.A.

  Richard Nilsen is a Homicide Detective and Assistant District Attorney with the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, a position he has held for the last nine years. Prior to that, he served 12 years with the Lower Merion Police Department where his assignments included patrolman, field training officer, platoon investigator, emergency response team member and detective. He has participated in more than 150 homicide investigations, including some of the most high-profile cases in Montgomery County history. His work has been profiled on the television shows Forensic Files, City Confidential and America's Most Wanted.

  Mr. Nilsen obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees in 1986 and 1987, respectively, from Villanova University and his law degree from Widener University School of Law in 1993. He is a certified Municipal Police Academy instructor and an Associate Editor of the Pennsylvania Police Criminal Law Bulletin. He has lectured extensively for the last sixteen years on criminal investigation procedures and legal issues affecting Pennsylvania patrolmen and detectives.

  Joe Pochron has been involved in law enforcement for 10 years and currently is a detective with the Upper Saucon Township Police Department. He is the commanding officer of the Lehigh County Computer Crimes Task Force and is assigned to the Pennsylvania State Police Southeastern Computer Crimes Task Force. Pochron holds several certifications in the digital forensics field.

  Before coming to DeSales, Dr. Ramsland directed one of the Bard Clemente programs in the inner city, which assists people without means to get a start in college, and she has been a therapist, crisis counselor, and psycho-educator, as well as a professional writer. She has published thirty-two nonfiction books, sixteen short stories, two novels, and more than eight hundred articles, and has been translated into ten languages.

   

  She speaks around the country on topics ranging from death investigation to ritual crime to the art of narrative nonfiction. Featured on many television programs, such as the Today Show and documentaries on A&E, the Learning Channel and Discovery, she often consults on aspects of unique subcultures. She has done research for famed criminal profiler and chief of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit, John Douglas, and she has published a book with another former profiler, Gregg McCrary, The Unknown Darkness. She has also done courtroom research for forensic psychologist Dr. Barbara Kirwin, author of The Mad, the Bad, and the Innocent, and has a part-time psychotherapy practice.

   

  Writing extensively about forensic science and psychology for Court TV's Crime Library, she has published over one hundred articles on serial killers, criminal investigation, and criminal psychology. She is also a frequent contributor to The Philadelphia Inquirer.

  Mr. Tomlinson is a retired Special Agent of the FBI with over twenty years of experience in organized crime, counterintelligence, and counterterrorism investigations. In addition, Mr. Tomlinson served eighteen months working in the Office of the Director of the FBI in Washington, D.C. Areas of academic interest include federal, state, and local law enforcement, organized crime, terrorism, and homeland security. He continues to serve as a police officer in Pennsylvania.
