About the ACCESS Nursing program:
  • Requires the completion of 40 courses for the degree: 13 general education courses, 7 required electives, 5 free electives, and 15 nursing curriculum courses.

  • The professional phase of the nursing program is limited to 32 students.

  • Courses are offered in an accelerated learning format.

  • Courses meet in the evenings during the week and labs/clinical are scheduled on the weekends. Students are expected to have their entire weekends and evenings free for courses and clinical practice.

  • The professional phase of the nursing program takes approximately 2 1/2 years to complete. 

  • Many of the nursing courses require additional clinical fees.  

  • The following prerequisite courses must be completed within a 5 year time-frame before entering the program’s professional phase:

Anatomy and Physiology I
Anatomy and Physiology II
Microbiology
Physiological Chemistry
Introduction to Psychology
Human Development
Probability & Statistics

 

  • A successful interview with the ACCESS Evening/Weekend BSN Nursing Coordinator is required for entrance to the professional phase of the nursing program. 

  • All general education courses as well as all required nursing electives must be completed before a student can enter the professional phase of the nursing program. 

  • All applicants who were not born in the United States will be required to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The TOEFL must have been taken within the last two (2) years of entering the nursing program.
