 Position: Director of Recruitment for Performing Arts

Type: Full Time Exempt

Location: Division of Performing Arts/Recruitment

 Scope:

Working closely with the performing arts faculty and staff and in collaboration with the university’s admission’s team, the director is responsible for developing and executing a strategic enrollment plan to include managing and generating inquiry, leads and application as well as meeting enrollment goals and strengthening retention.   The director serves as the chief admissions recruiter for the division charged to identify, contact, and maintain relationships with prospective students from inquiry through matriculation and throughout their career as a student in the division.

The director plans on and off-campus recruitment events and participates in regional and national networking and recruitment events specializing in the performing arts.  Additionally, the director will be charged to collaborate with the Career Development staff in developing student internship/experiential learning opportunities. This position is a 12-month, enrollment-driven appointment requiring work on evenings and weekends. Effective candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, professional comportment and ability to demonstrate team-orientation.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in performing arts plus three years of relevant experience required
  • Master’s degree in a performing arts field or in enrollment management preferred, but not required
  • Experience in admissions and recruitment in higher education and general knowledge of higher education markets preferred
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional comportment
  • Ability to demonstrate team-oriented skills
  • Ability to Travel
  • Requires Weekend and evening hours
  • Strong interpersonal skills required
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record required

    Share your experience and expertise with our highly motivated adult students. Adjunct faculty positions available to teach evenings and online in our ACCESS Program (bachelor's degree program for adult students). A Master's degree in the appropriate discipline and teaching experience using technology are required to teach in the following disciplines:

  • Biology Full-Time Faculty Position

    DeSales University invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Biology to begin in August 2018. The successful candidate should hold a PhD in Neuroscience or closely related discipline. Teaching expectations may include contributing to current general biology course offerings, as well as developing courses in area of expertise. The candidate is expected to develop a research program in neuroscience involving undergraduate students. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.

  • Director of the MA in Criminal Justice Program

    We invite applications for Director of the MA in Criminal Justice Program to begin Fall, 2018.

    The program is offered in both traditional and online formats. The successful candidate will teach in both our undergraduate and graduate programs, and administrate the program, and recruit students.

    Although this is a non-tenure position, the successful applicant can take advantage of our generous long-term contracts with the possibility of conversion to a tenure track position in the future.

    Online teaching experience desired. A doctorate in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or related field is preferred. ABD considered.  J.D. is not sufficient.

  • Lighting Designer

    DeSales University’s Division of Performing Arts is accepting applications for a full-time theatre faculty position as resident lighting designer and master electrician. 

    Position is a 9-month appointment with possibility for summer employment with the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.  Terminal degree or equivalent professional experience required.  Responsibilities include teaching one course per semester, primarily in the area of lighting; designing two main stage theatre productions and one dance concert per semester.  This position supervises student lighting designers and oversees the student lighting crews for all productions.  Additional responsibilities may include supervising sound design on some productions, and mentoring stage managers, so experience in those areas is highly desirable.

    DeSales University has excellent performing arts programs in Dance, Music, Theatre, and TV/Film.  The university is located on a beautiful 400-acre campus approximately one hour from Philadelphia and two hours from New York City.

    Share your experience and expertise with our highly motivated MBA students.  MBA  classes run once a week from 6:00 – 9:30 pm on Mon-Thurs.  Adjunct faculty positions available in the following disciplines:  Accounting, Finance, Business Computing, Project Management.  Teaching slots more readily available in Pocono and Lansdale campuses as well as online. A Master’s degree in the appropriate discipline is required;  teaching experience using technology (Angel, Blackboard, etc) preferred.
