Dr. Sue Migliore is an Assistant Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at DeSales University and a clinician‑educator with over 30 years of clinical experience across acute care, rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. She is a Board‑Certified Pediatric Clinical Specialist and has worked predominantly with pediatric populations for more than 28 years.
Her areas of pediatric clinical expertise include developmental delay, torticollis, idiopathic toe walking, spasticity management and serial casting, orthotic prescription, post‑concussion care, and wound and burn care. She is also a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator, contributing to simulation‑enhanced learning throughout the DPT curriculum.
Dr. Migliore’s teaching responsibilities occur across all three years of the program. She serves as primary instructor for Differential Diagnosis and Intervention: Pediatrics and Clinical Reasoning II with a Pediatric Pro Bono Clinic, and co‑instructor or lecturer in Foundations of Patient Care I and II, Differential Diagnosis and Intervention: Adult Neurology, Clinical Reasoning I and III, Differential Diagnosis and Intervention: Lower Quadrant, and Special Populations. She also serves as a faculty mentor for student research projects and case reports, with current scholarly work examining the impact of experiential learning in acute care on student self‑efficacy and confidence.
Dr. Migliore contributes to the profession through scholarship, guideline development, and professional service. She has authored and co‑authored peer‑reviewed poster presentations at APTA Combined Sections Meeting and APTA Pennsylvania MOVE PA Conference, including award‑winning case studies. She is a critical appraiser for the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Clinical Practice Guideline on Idiopathic Toe Walking and a section contributor to national APTA resources, including the Pediatric Vital Sign Interpretation in Acute Care Guide (2025).
Her scholarly contributions also include textbook chapters such as “The Integumentary System” in Meeting the Physical Therapy Needs of Children (F.A. Davis, 4th ed., in production) and “Cerebral Palsy” in Case Studies Across the Continuum: A Physical Therapist’s Perspective (Thieme, 2021).
Dr. Migliore’s excellence in teaching and scholarship has been recognized through multiple awards, including the APTA Pennsylvania Best Case Study Award (2024), the DeSales DPT Outstanding Case Report Award (2025), and the DeSales DPT Outstanding Research Award (2017). She also serves the DeSales community as a member of the University Safety Committee and the College of Healthcare Professions Interprofessional Education/Student Experience Committee.
When not in the classroom or clinic, Dr. Migliore enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She is an avid sports fan and enjoys golfing.
