Dr. Niemkiewicz is a speech-language pathologist with experience working in inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient settings primarily working with adults with acquired conditions. She specializes in working with and researching neurogenic communication disorders and complex communication needs requiring augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Dr. Niemkiewicz received her Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Language Science from Pennsylvania State University. Her research focuses on interprofessional approaches to promote holistic care for people with aphasia, including the restorative effects of AAC and the effects of interprofessional education and practice on mental health outcomes for people with aphasia.
