DeSales Celebrates Community at Homecoming & Family Weekend

DeSales University welcomed alumni, families, students, and friends back to Center Valley this fall for a Homecoming & Family Weekend filled with activities, athletic games, reconnection, and celebration of the Salesian spirit. Despite some rainy weather, it was a chance for alumni to return to a place they once called home, and for students to welcome their families to campus to experience what it means to be part of the DeSales community.

The weekend kicked off honoring the seven new inductees into the Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday and continued on through Saturday with alumni and families gathering in the morning for disc golf, a Rail Trail walk, and alumni athletic games.

In the afternoon, bulldogs of all ages came together for a great time in Frankie’s Fun Zone with games, pumpkin decorating, treats, and activities. And many braved the wind and rain to keep the beloved Homecoming tradition of athletic games and tailgating alive.

The day continued with the addition of five new alumni to the Student Life Wall of Fame, a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Character U, as well as a Memorial Mass to honor those we have lost in the DeSales family. In the evening, alumni and families gathered for dinner, with a special reunion of the class of 1971to celebrate 55 years since their graduation.

Although the skies may have been cloudy, the smiles, memories, and fellowship shared throughout the DeSales community brightened the entire campus for another unforgettable weekend.
