DeSales University President Named to LVB 300

DeSales University President Rev. James J. Greenfield, OSFS '84, Ed.D., has been named to the LVB 300, Lehigh Valley Business's list of the region's most influenJames Greenfieldtial and accomplished business leaders, in the education category for 2026.

The LVB 300 is Lehigh Valley Business's premier recognition program, celebrating business leaders across the region who have demonstrated sustained success and a deep commitment to their industries and communities. Honorees represent the very best of the Lehigh Valley's business community.

At DeSales, Fr. Greenfield’s leadership has generated consistent growth in student enrollment, fortified the university’s financial strength, and most recently has added new bachelor programs in aviation management and emergency medical services (EMS) and a doctoral program in medical science (DMSc) that provides physician assistants with the credentials for leadership in the education, healthcare, and pharmaceutical fields.

“I am proud to serve the Lehigh Valley along with many strong leaders, especially in the education, business, and healthcare communities,” Fr. Greenfield said.  “The Lehigh Valley continues to be a center of professional resources and services that leads to transformational human experiences for so many.  I am grateful that DeSales University stands with our neighbors as key contributor in this success.”

Advancing its mission to support students to “be who they are and be that well,” DeSales is the only Catholic university in the Lehigh Valley and the only Salesian University in the United States.  The university acclaims the legacy of its namesake, St. Francis de Sales, whose inspiration grounds the core values of gentleness, humility, gratitude, hospitality, and wisdom.
