Class of 2029 to Set New Enrollment Record
The enrollment management team is celebrating another record recruitment year.
To date, total deposits from first-year students in the Class of 2029 stand at 532. That’s up from last year’s deposit record of 528. The team is also expecting an additional 70 transfer students to enroll this fall.
"We have a phenomenal recruitment staff that continues to recruit in a challenging market,” says Derrick Wetzel ’02, M’09, vice president of enrollment management. “The team focuses on the individual prospective student by showing them how DeSales University can help them meet their academic and career goals while becoming better citizens.”
This year’s top performing programs are in business, which set a new record among its majors, and healthcare, including nursing, medical studies, and sport and exercise physiology. The communication sciences and disorders 3+2 program also saw a large increase in new students compared to last year.
In addition to the recruitment team, Wetzel also credits the institutional commitment from the administration and new deans to the faculty and staff.
“The efforts of the enrollment team, combined with the collective recruitment efforts of everyone at DeSales, helped us increase our yield on the number of students who were admitted to the University,” he says.
