Be Who You Are and Be That Well

The current presidential administration in Washington, D.C., began issuing a series of executive orders and Dear Colleague Letter (DCL) memos in January 2025 – a signal change in federal governance priorities.  The regulatory and legal landscape for higher education is expected to change rapidly, and DeSales leadership will continue to prudently evaluate how these developments will directly affect our campus.

DeSales is tracking these executive orders and administrative actions for relevant impacts on independent higher education and more specifically our campus community. The University is focused on navigating this transition by taking all necessary steps in alignment with our mission and within the boundaries of law.

What's more, we will move forward with our efforts to be a University community of hospitality - Salesian hospitality seeks to accept others by honoring their human dignity and empowering them “to be who they are and be that well.”  Our commitment to our DSU Catholic, Salesian mission as foundational to advancing our strategic plan pillars — academic innovation, student experience, stewardship, and visibility & growth — remains resolute.

This page collects and shares updated information, communication from campus leadership and campus resources on the relevant and potential impacts of federal actions.  Updates will be made when they become available.
