Faculty Feed

The Faculty Feed shows a select number or all faculty related to a program, department or division.

How to Use

  • Faculty feeds may be placed on pages to highlight faculty working with those programs being detailed or related to the page content
  • Faculty are stored in the Faculty Profile content type.
  • Faculty feeds may be customized to show select faculty or faculty from particular departments.
  • Each faculty links to their profile for more information.

How To Build

  1. Drag the "Faculty Members" component onto the page.
    • Found under "Faculty"
  2. Click the Edit Pencil in the top right.
  3. Select the appropriate option in the first Content tab. This selection determines which faculty members to display: 
    • All published faculty members: displays all faculty members.
    • Selected faculty members: displays a manual selection of faculty members.
    • Narrow selection by: displays faculty members either filtered by their department or date.
  4. Select the appropriate options in the second List settings tab. These options determine how the faculty members chosen in the content tab will be displayed. 
    • Use paging: displays a set amount of faculty members per page, with pagination to show the additional members on additional pages.
    • Use limit: displays only the set amount of faculty members and no more.
    • No limit and paging: shows all the faculty members at once.
  5.  Select how to sort the faculty members in the List settings tab.
    1. To sort by Last Name, select As set in Advanced mode.
    2. Click the Advanced button in the lower right of the pop-up window.
    3. Click the Model button in the Advanced options view.
    4. Scroll down the form and look for the SortExpression field near the bottom.
    5. Enter "Lastname ASC" exactly in the SortExpression field.
    6. Click "Save" at the bottom.
  6. Return to the edit pop-up by clicking the Edit Pencil in the top right.
  7. Select the Single item settings tabs.
    • Auto-generated page: this option will open faculty profile detail pages as children of the current page this component is on. If this is the parent faculty page for the profiles, use this option.
    • Selected existing page: this options will open faculty profile details pages as children of this selected page, and not automatically as the child page of where this component is on. Use this option if displaying an additional faculty feed elsewhere on the site, and select the main parent faculty page location for this faculty members.
  8. Click "Save" at the bottom.
