This May, Trexler Library welcomed the DSU Writing Center into its new home.

The Writing Center is now located on the first floor of the library, providing better visibility and accessibility to its services.

This partnership has been highly anticipated, and now students can find academic support in a centralized location. Ann Koefer, director of the Academic Success Center, shares her excitement for the move: “By moving academic support services to the library in the long-term, our students will have access to a more cohesive process in deepening their academic skills.”

The Writing Center and Trexler Librarians work hand-in-hand to help students—undergraduates, graduates, and adult students—improve their writing and research. They can meet with a librarian for assistance in the research process and learn from writing specialists how to decode and organize essays and assignments. Students can sign up to meet with a writing specialist or peer tutor on TutorTrac.

The Writing Center is also available to assist faculty and instructors in their courses by presenting on a number of topics, such as avoiding plagiarism.

Take the first step and lead them to success. Tell your students about the DSU Writing Center!
