Accelerated nursing students have accomplished a rare feat.

The 52 students in the Accelerated BSN Class of 2020 achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX-RN, the national licensure exam. Nursing graduates must pass the NCLEX-RN to practice as a Registered Nurse. While this isn’t the first time the program has scored a perfect pass rate, it is a unique achievement.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and efforts. They took the exam seriously, worked countless hours through the Nursing program on preparation, and now have their license, all with a promising future.”

Dr. Mary Elizabeth Doyle-Tadduni, head of the Division of Nursing

Doyle-Tadduni also recognized the dedication of the nursing faculty, and the timeless hours they have spent educating students.

“They are the ones who invest their time in our students and mentor them to accomplish this great achievement. Also, many thanks to Dr. Natalie Cyphers, director of the Accelerated BSN program, and to Dr. Deborah Whittaker, chair of Undergraduate Nursing programs, for their leadership and in the guidance of our accelerated students.”

The Class of 2020’s pass rate exceeds both the Pennsylvania and national averages.
