Did you know the November is National Native American Heritage Month? This month recognizes the culture and history of the indigenous people of the United States. There are currently 573 federally-recognized tribal nations in the United States, as well as an additional 66 nations recognized by states.

Trexler Library has gathered a wide variety of resources by and about indigenous people on our Native American Heritage Month guide. It includes something for everyone: award-winning novels, poems and stories by current US Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, broad histories of the US from the indigenous perspective, autobiographies, and streaming miniseries.

National heritage organizations like the Library of Congress and Smithsonian have gathered additional resources here: https://nativeamericanheritagemonth.gov/
