DeSales Celebrates Dr. Caroline Hollshwandner Day

Members of the DeSales community came together to celebrate the pioneer of the nursing program on her 101st birthday.
The president’s office and the Division of Nursing held a birthday lunch for Dr. Caroline Hollshwandner, the founder and longtime chair of the nursing program.
“We continue to give thanks to the Lord for the gift of your life—all 101 years—and for the many wonderful things you’ve done,” Father James Greenfield, OSFS ’84, president of DeSales, told Hollshwandner.
Last year, Fr. Greenfield and Fr. Gambet, the University’s second president, declared every September 12 as Dr. Caroline Hollshwandner Day at DeSales.
