Career Development Center Hosts 10th Annual CareerFEST

Hundreds of students got to chat with local employers and learn about potential opportunities at the Career Development Center’s 10th annual CareerFEST.
Representatives—including many DeSales alumni—from Dorney Park, Copperhead Grille, Lutron Electronics, Olympus Corporation, and more were on hand to engage with students and get to know them.
Joey Letcher ’18, who works in customer service and tech support for Lutron Electronics, credits the staff at the Career Center with helping him get his initial internship with the company.
“They put you in the best position to succeed because they allow you to discover things about yourself and believe in yourself,” he says.
“When you take advantage of these opportunities and resources, you see how it really leads you in the right direction.”
The annual event features fun activities like cornhole, live music, and free food. In addition to meeting potential employers, it’s also a great opportunity for students to connect with CDC staff.
“It’s to get our students acclimated to the Career Center and who we are,” says Kristin Eicholtz, executive director of career development. “We want them to know that we’re not a frightening place, we are a fun place. We want them to engage early on.”
