Trexler Library’s Commitment to Maintaining Print Collection

Trexler Library

For the past year, Trexler Library has been in the process of reviewing our monographic and serial collections with the goal of removing outdated material, items in very poor condition, and items that have had very few or no circulations in many years. In the case of periodicals, we have removed volumes for which we now have online full-text access. This is a normal process for libraries across the country.

We are also seeking to prepare for future library renovations that will provide enhanced study spaces for students and bring additional Academic Resource Center services into the building. We currently host the ARC tutoring services for undergraduates, and we hope to expand that service to graduate students as well. All of these changes require additional space.

It is definitely not our intent to create an all-digital library collection, and we enhancing our print book collection to better meet the academic needs of the entire DeSales community.
