Are you interested in DeSales history? Then check out Trexler Library’s newest online resource, DeSales University Archives. We’re working on making the university archives and special collections searchable, and while it is not yet complete, many collections are already described.

This database provides archival finding aids for our collections. Finding aids are descriptive inventories of historical material that include information about the background, content, age, and format of the documents. While these finding aids describe what we have in our collection, they do not provide full text digitized versions of our material. But you are welcome to schedule an appointment to review material in person.

The Archives serves as the DeSales University institutional memory and documents the key activities of our history. It is a collaboration between Trexler Library and academic departments. In addition to material related to the history and workings of the university, the Archives holds numerous special collections that are related to our community. Recently, Trexler Library was gifted the Steve McKee Papers, a collection generously donated by Steve McKee’s widow, Noreen. Steve graduated from DeSales in 1974 and went on to be a published author of multiple books, sports journalist, and editor at the Wall Street Journal. His papers illustrate the career of a writer and the writing process from research to publication. We are excited to share these and other materials with our campus community.
