34th Annual Poetry Festival Winner Interviewed on WFMZ

Aliyah Levy, a junior from Fleetwood Area High School, and winner of the 34th Annual Poetry Festival at DeSales University, was a guest on WFMZ’s News at Sunrise on Saturday, November 10.
Levy was interviewed with her creative writing teacher Sarah Wilkinson to discuss her poem and the full-tuition scholarship she received as first prize.
The DeSales Poetry Festival was held on October 19 and high school students from across the Northeast United States participated. Elaine Terranova, local poet and longtime friend of the Festival, served as keynote poet. Dr. Stephen Myers, professor of English, coordinates the Festival, which is sponsored by the DeSales departments of academic affairs, enrollment services, humanities, and student life, as well as the Student Government Association.
