Speaking Out for Banned Books

Thank you to all the DeSales students, faculty, and staff who participated in Trexler Library’s celebration of Banned Books Week!

This year, Trexler Library and the DeSales community stood up to censorship by reading from banned or challenged books. Students, faculty, and staff selected excerpts from books on the Top 100 Banned or Challenged Books list to read for Trexler’s social media accounts (@desales_trexler). You can see all the posts on the Banned Books Week 2018 Virtual Read-Outs Playlist.

In addition, Trexler Library had an interactive Banned Books Week display in the lobby. Students were invited to add a quote from their favorite banned or challenged book to the display. These posts entered them into a drawing for a goody bag prize.
