Apply for a HEERF grant

Funds are available for students with high demonstrated need

THIS IS ARCHIVED CONTENT. HEERF GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.

We are pleased to announce that DeSales University has received funding from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (“HEERF”) as supplemented through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act in January 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act in March 2021.

These funds are available for students with high demonstrated need.  This is typically defined as those who meet the criteria for Federal Pell Grant funding or those with an expected family contribution below $6,000.

If information from your Free Application for Federal Student Aid shows that you have high demonstrated need or if you have a change in your current financial circumstances which may result in high demonstrated need, you can apply for this grant.

Please note, you will need to log into MyDSU to access this application.

Eligible expenses under HEERF include all billable educational expenses such as tuition, fees, room & board and items such as technology needs, lost employment, pandemic medical costs, and child care.

Please note that these funds have been provided by the federal government to help address unusual expenses of students due to the disruption of campus operations from the coronavirus and represent a cash grant and not a loan.  These funds are also non-taxable to the recipient.

HEERF grant awarding will begin in May and continue throughout the award year until all funds are allocated.
