Tom Cobb

Instructional Media Specialist

As the Classroom Support Manager, Tom leads a team of technicians who maintain and troubleshoot the technology used in the classrooms on a daily basis. He and his team are the first responders for “classroom emergencies” involving the classroom technology. They offer training and workshops for faculty, staff, and students who need to use any of the technology in the various learning spaces on campus. He has over a decade of experience as an Audio Visual and Video Conferencing Technician, which he puts to good use in his current role.

Tom earned his Bachelors of Science in Electronic Media from Kutztown University, after which he worked for several years for the popular TV series, Forensic Files. He transitioned to working in the Audio Visual field after moving to Austin, TX, where AV technician positions for live events were plentiful. After returning to Pennsylvania, he began his journey into academia with a position at Drexel University College of Medicine as an AV Technician. He came to DeSales University to be closer to family and friends, and has been here ever since.

Tom is a native of Pennsylvania and grew up in the Lehigh Valley.  He is also a DeSales University alumnus and earned his Master’s in Education in Instructional Technology at DeSales University in 2019. He currently resides in Pennsburg and spends much of his time happily catering to the multiple rescue dogs who have taken over his home. He enjoys playing guitar, creating videos, and outdoor activities like fishing and hiking.
