Jen Morris ClemensJen (Morris) Clemens ’93 and her daughter Molly have been actively involved in charities near them in Seminole County, FL.  In spring 2016 after volunteering at Healthy Start Coalition of Seminole County whose goal is to educate and engage the community in order to give every baby a healthy start, Molly was motivated to do something more.  The organization hosts an annual baby shower and this year’s theme was early literacy. Their goal was to send a children’s book home with every family.  When Molly heard this she immediately thought to do a book drive at her school.  “I have so many great memories of when my mom and dad used to read to me when I was little, and I want other kids to be able to share those moments with their parents,” Molly says about the book drive.

Jen also serves on the Public Relations Committee for Healthy Start Coalition and has helped to plan and attend events, solicit publicity for local media and volunteered to write their first brochure, which her husband Brent designed.

In addition to their involvement with Healthy Start Coalition, Jen and Molly can also be found volunteering at another Seminole County charity, The Sharing Center that helps the homeless by providing social workers, a food pantry and an “oasis” where they can get showers and clean clothes. The Sharing Center also takes a unique proactive approach to prevent families from becoming homeless. Jen and Molly have volunteered at The Sharing Center’s Thrift Store and Boutique on weekends and days off, as well as helped on Thanksgiving morning where food was collected at a local Turkey Run 5K for the  food pantry.

Molly will be entering the 8th grade at Lake Mary Preparatory School in Lake Mary, Florida and Jen is a full-time medical editor working on assignment for Merck.
