Dr. Laura M. Baylor is an assistant professor and director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. She has been a board certified family nurse practitioner since 2001 and registered nurse since 1988. Dr. Baylor’s clinical practice has been primarily in family medicine with roles in college health, urology, house calls for the homebound, and emergency medicine. She has practiced in Pequest Family Practice in New Jersey since 2001.

Dr. Baylor teaches Procedures for Primary Care, Health and Physical Assessment, and the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty courses. She has taught in various undergraduate nursing programs as clinical adjunct faculty since 2000, and as a clinical preceptor and adjunct faculty for DeSales University since 2006. In 2017, she became the director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program here at DeSales.

Dr. Baylor obtained her Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center School of Nursing and Union County College in 1988. She worked in pediatric head trauma, intermediate coronary care, and acute coronary care before finding her true passion in emergency medicine.

In 1999, Dr. Baylor received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales and immediately continued completing her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2001 from DeSales University. In 2013, Dr. Baylor had the honor of being part of the inaugural class completing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Clinical Leadership at DeSales University.

Dr. Baylor is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Mu Omicron Chapter and serves on the board of directors for Two Rivers Health and Wellness Foundation of the Lehigh Valley.
