Joseph Walsh, MA
Instructor; Director, Master of Arts in Criminal Justice (MCJ) Program
Mr. Walsh is the director of the MCJ program and an instructor of computer science and criminal justice at DeSales University. Prior to joining the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at DeSales, he earned an MA from DeSales University in criminal justice with a concentration in digital forensics and a BS degree from Strayer University, where he majored in information systems with a concentration in security administration.
Mr. Walsh has more than 15 years of experience working with computers. He has been a police officer for 10 years, and spent several years working as a detective investigating crimes involving technology and performing forensic examinations of electronic evidence. He has attended over 1,000 hours of training and holds several internationally recognized certifications. He has testified in court numerous times as an expert witness.
Mr. Walsh’s teaching and research interests include digital forensics, cyber security, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
