Jeffrey W. Focht, Ed.D.

Assistant Professor, Edward A. McCabe Chair of Business and Society

Dr. Jeff Focht is an assistant professor of business and the Edward A. McCabe Chair of Business and Society at DeSales University. He teaches dynamic MBA and undergraduate courses in management and marketing, as well as Conversations about Goodness, a senior seminar in the Faith & Reason Honors Program. As McCabe Chair, Jeff oversees initiatives through The Fleming Institute for Business Ethics, coordinates student business internships, and assists in student recruitment efforts. He is a recipient of the DeSales University Student Government Association 2015-16 Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year Award.

Jeff has over 25 years of experience in corporate, small business, and higher education environments. He is a sought-after speaker and leadership consultant to individuals and organizations, primarily those authentically dedicated to defining and practicing mission, purpose, and values. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Truth for Women, the Forum for Ethics in the Workplace at DeSales, and on the Priority One Foundation Core Team.

Prior to DeSales, Jeff served as vice president for academic affairs, as dean of business & technology, and as assistant professor of marketing at Northampton Community College. Prior to academia, he was owner/president of New Jersey-based discount retailer, Dollar Plus, and a small business consultant. His corporate career started in business development within the consumer products industry with Unilever, a Fortune Global 500 company. 

Jeff holds an Ed.D. in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania; an MA in liberal studies from Villanova University; and a BS in marketing from Central Connecticut State University. His research interests encompass higher education trends, business ethics, factors attributed to human behavior, leadership development, and organizational practices that influence positive change.

Jeff devotes meaningful time to family and friends and is committed to continual learning and spiritual growth. He and his wife, Wanda, have three children, Nick, Monica, and Jackie, and three grandchildren, Antonio, Milan, and Imani. As for personal interests, Jeff is a wine enthusiast, enjoys cooking and great food, and is dedicated to keeping physically fit.
