Dr. Jacqueline Ochsenreither is an associate professor of nursing and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at DeSales University. She has been a pediatric critical-care nurse practitioner for more than 29 years. She has cared for infants, children, and adolescents in a variety of pediatric nursing roles at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, including adolescent medicine, cardiac-intensive care, emergency medicine, transport team, and cardiac catheterization.

She has experience practicing as an advanced practice nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in pediatric pain management, cardiac-intensive care, lung, and heart/lung transplant, and as a pediatric hospitalist at Doylestown Hospital. She has teaching experience at the doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate levels at DeSales University, the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Nursing, and Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing. She has precepted both didactically and clinically for many years, focusing on pediatric acute and critical care. She is board-certified and serves as a reviewer for Pediatric Nursing.

Dr. Ochsenreither is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of AACN (SEPA), the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), the National Organization of Nurse Practitioners (NONPF)-Special Interest Group/Program Directors, and the Pennsylvania League for Nursing (PLN). Dr. Ochsenreither is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and DeSales University’s Mu Omicron Chapter.

Dr. Ochsenreither graduated with her BSN from Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales in 1985. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Nursing with her MSN and CRNP in pediatric critical care in 1994 and received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from DeSales University in Clinical Leadership in 2015. She recently completed the Leadership and Management Certificate Program from The Wharton School in 2022.

Dr. Ochsenreither serves on the following DeSales University Committees: Institutional Review Board, Division of Nursing Graduate Admissions and Standards, Division of Nursing Outcomes, Distance Education Steering Committee, and Rank and Tenure.
