David Gilfoil, Ph.D.

Vice President for Strategic Planning & Business Initiatives

Prior to coming to DeSales in 2007, Dr. Gilfoil was a sales operations executive with broad experience in the establishment of global sales strategies and the development of successful worldwide sales operations for Agere Systems, a multi-billion dollar global semiconductor company. He also held executive and mid-level management positions in quality, business planning, engineering, and marketing at Lucent Technologies, AT&T, Exxon, and a number of smaller start up companies. He has conducted business in over 25 countries and has spent considerable time in Asia, Europe, and North America over the last 20+ years. He has briefly lived in Hong Kong, London, and most recently Tokyo, where he was Japan Managing Director and President for Agere Systems.

Areas of industry expertise include: sales strategy, strategic account planning, cultural diversity, quality management, sales governance, customer relationship management, business process improvement, change management, customer satisfaction, sales forecasting, sales incentive compensation, and performance management. He has developed and managed college recruiting programs and co-operative education programs in conjunction with various corporations and academic institutions.

Dr. Gilfoil received his Ph.D. in management science from Stevens Institute of Technology and a master's degree from the College of William and Mary in experimental/cognitive psychology. He also has a BA in psychology from University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Dr. Gilfoil's hobbies include "extreme skiing," golf, tennis, and real estate investments.
