Legacy

 St. Francis de Sales (1567-1622) is known for many accomplishments in his life:  as a priest-missionary, as a Bishop, as a spiritual director, as a devotional writer, and as a founder of a religious order.  He is honored as a saint, a Doctor of the Church, and patron of writers and of the deaf.
