St. John Paul II Memorial Arts and Culture Series

JPII venice85In celebration of the life and legacy of Saint JOHN PAUL II (1920-2005), the Salesian Center sponsors an annual event focusing on the beauty of the arts (music, drama, poetry, literature, etc.). 

The memorial celebration is endowed by the Althea A. Livirrie and Joseph & Rose Livirrie Endowment for Arts & Culture.

The event is held annually, on or around the April 2nd date of the pontiff's death.  All performances are free and open to the public.

This annual lecture series is designed to offer the public a humanistic viewpoint on an issue of national prominence. The topic of discussion for this event will be The attractive beauty of holiness: the influence of St. Francis de Sales in the married  spirituality of Elisabeth Leseur. FR. THOMAS KEVIN KRAFT, OP, Friar of the Province of Saint Joseph USA, currently assigned to Saint Dominic's House, Nairobi, Kenya is our featured speaker.
