Arts and Media

The Salesian Center for Faith and Culture supports several program that highlight the cultural importance of the arts (film, drama, etc.), often in collaboration with the ► Performing & Fine Arts Department at DSU.

 John Paul II Memorial Arts & Culture Series -- an artistic celebration of the life and legacy of John Paul II, usually occurring on or near the anniversary of his death in April

Soundings -- a distinctive artistic event that includes a "second stage" theatre production followed by a "talk-back" session with the cast

The Word Among Us -- a unique collaborative venture, organized as a touring company, which offers professional stage readings & discussions of the dramatic works written by Karol Wojtyla/John Paul II.

► Reel to Real -- a movie premiere whose subject lies at the intersection of faith and culture, followed by audience discussion with guest experts

This annual lecture series is designed to offer the public a humanistic viewpoint on an issue of national prominence. The topic of discussion for this event will be The attractive beauty of holiness: the influence of St. Francis de Sales in the married  spirituality of Elisabeth Leseur. FR. THOMAS KEVIN KRAFT, OP, Friar of the Province of Saint Joseph USA, currently assigned to Saint Dominic's House, Nairobi, Kenya is our featured speaker.
