DeSales University advances to 61st among regional universities in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings.

DeSales University advanced ten spots, ranking 61st among regional universities in the north for 2017.  The U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges Rankings were released this week, ranking colleges and universities on up to 15 measures of academic quality.  The rankings emphasize student outcomes – including graduation and retention rates – which are indicators of how well a school supports the academic and financial success of its students.

DeSales shares its 61st position with Mercyhurst University (PA) and West Chester University of Pennsylvania, along with three State University of New York (SUNY) institutions.

DeSales also ranked among the best regional universities that participate in federal initiatives to help veterans and active-duty service members pay for their degrees.

Within the rankings (northern region):

·         DSU outperformed 15 higher ranked universities on average first-year student retention.

·         DSU outperformed 27 higher ranked universities on the 2015 graduation rate.

·         DSU outperformed 18 higher ranked universities on average alumni giving rate.
