The DeSales University MBA program, in cooperation with the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), is pleased to announce a collaborative partnership.
Key objectives of the partnership are to create awareness of the discipline, to facilitate the development of a healthy Supply Chain Management workforce, and to enhance the overall competitive position of companies in the greater Lehigh Valley.
In the United States, the concept of Supply Chain Management has been in existence for more than 100 years. It involves optimizing the flow of information, goods or services, and money from a company’s supplier (and their suppliers) through to the company’s customer (and their customers).
MBA Director and Associate Professor of Business at DeSales, Dr. David Gilfoil, recently announced a new concentration in Supply Chain Management as part of the DeSales MBA program. “This partnership is a perfect segue and natural step in the right direction as we launch our new concentration,” Gilfoil said. “Our MBA program prides itself on its quality relationships with local/regional companies, its deeply experienced adjunct faculty, and a healthy roster of MBA student-to-company engagements that include market-research studies, business development activities, and leadership development opportunities. This is truly an exciting time for us.”
George Nisiotis, president of the Lehigh Valley Chapter of ISM, shares Gilfoil’s enthusiasm. “We have been looking for a quality partner like DeSales MBA for some time. We are eager to leverage our joint resources to serve the study of Supply Chain and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of company supply operations in the Lehigh Valley. Our membership is fully committed to work with DeSales to this end.”
