Cosmic Origins Film to be Screened as Part of Year of Faith

by Lore McFadden-Westwood | Mar 19, 2013

As part of the Year of Faith campaign, the new movie Cosmic Origins, a film that explores the insights and evidence, from science itself, of a transcendent, intelligent Creator, will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the University Center at DeSales University’s Center Valley campus. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Salesian Center for Faith and Culture at DeSales University and the Diocese of Allentown. No tickets are required.

This film features eight world-class scientists exploring modern scientific theories about how the universe came to exist. Throughout the journey, viewers learn that modern scientific paths point toward a faith understanding of how we came to be.

The Salesian Center for Faith & Culture, in collaboration with the Diocese of Allentown, has planned a series of events to celebrate the Year of Faith, which began on October 11, 2012, and will end on the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King, on November 24, 2013. The opening of this special year also marks the fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the twentieth anniversary of the publication of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
