Winter Graduation/Commencement 2017

Graduation will be held in Billera Hall.  Officers from our campus police team will be on hand to direct you to designated parking areas throughout campus. For your convenience, we have arranged for bus transportation for you and your guests from the designated parking areas to the main entrance of Billera Hall.  Graduates will gather and robe in the varsity courts of Billera Hall.  We ask that you do not leave any personal items in the robing area.  In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony may be cancelled but graduates are welcome to march in the following May ceremony. 

Schedule of Events

  • 10:15 a.m. – Graduates gather for academic procession on the varsity courts in Billera Hall

  • 11:00 a.m. – Graduation ceremony begins

  • 12:00 p.m. – Light refreshments – Billera Hall

Caps and Gowns
Caps and gowns may be picked up at the Campus Store on the following days:

  • Monday, December 12 • 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Tuesday, December 13 •  9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, December 14 • 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Thursday, December 15 • 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Friday, December 16 • 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  • Saturday, December 17 • 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Please contact the bookstore at ext. 1325 if you need to pick up your cap and gown after these dates

Graduation Announcements
Graduation announcements will be given to you when you pick up your academic attire.  Personalized announcements can be ordered at

Tickets are not required for January graduation.

Each graduate must be cleared of financial obligations prior to graduation in order to participate in the ceremony and receive his or her diploma.  All financial matters are handled in the Treasurer’s Office. Traditional day graduates with clearance questions should contact Ariana Dixon at ext. 1343. ACCESS graduates and those graduating from the graduate programs should contact Joanne Seif at ext. 1376.  We recommend that you check with the Treasurer’s Office prior to gradation to ensure that you have no outstanding financial obligations.  If you have any academic deficiency, you will be notified early in January.

Special Needs
Any graduate who may need special parking accommodations should contact the DeSales University Parking Authority at ext. 1862 for instructions.  There is an elevator located at the rear of Billera Hall for the convenience of your guests.  DeSales University encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities.  If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or have questions about physical access provided, please contact Amanda Yetter at 610-282-1100 ext. 1348 at least two weeks prior to the commencement, to allow the University to provide reasonable accommodations.
