The Gambet Center

Our new 77,000 sq. ft., $27 million facility includes state-of-the-science simulation laboratories to replicate clinical scenarios specific to adult, pediatric and birthing care for undergraduate and graduate health care degree programs. The Center is a showcase of green architecture featuring environmentally advanced design consistent with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification standards of the U.S. Green Building Council.

Gross Anatomy Lab - DeSales University - Gambet Center

Human Gross Anatomy Lab

The Human Anatomy Lab with cadavers enhances the training of physician assistant students because it allows for a real understanding of the human body. Most physician assistant programs only have cadaver labs if they are associated with medical schools. Because DeSales has the only cadaver lab in the region, we offer opportunities for shared use in partnership with area hospitals.

Patient Simulation Lab - DeSales University
Simulation and Training Labs

DeSales had the most up-to-date, cutting-edge technology lab facilities including a Standardized Patient Lab complete with a waiting room and examination areas and a Simulation Lab with mannequin simulators.

Simulation is a crucial tool in the development of a quality physician assistant workforce. The labs in the Gambet Center are outfitted with audio-video technology as well as integrated simulation management and skills evaluation software to allow the instructors to manage clinical skills training and patient exam protocols.

An education management system provides a comprehensive solution for the labs and includes a total skills center, a total SIM center, and digital AV equipment. The digital AV software and hardware allows faculty to capture both the simulations and standardized patient environments to generate a digital video record of individual and team performance. This helps evaluate students' performances when faced with realistic clinical challenges.

Physician Assistant students: to receive full consideration for the next academic year, your CASPA application must be verified by CASPA no later than December 1.
