Nani Cuadrado, MSPAS, PA-C is a certified physician assistant, graduating from the DeSales University Physician Assistant (PA) Program in 2002, receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from her peers at graduation. Prior to being a physician assistant, Nani worked for seven years in advanced life support for a rural ambulance corps and for the local search and rescue team. She received her undergraduate degree from Villanova University, where she majored in Biology, minored in Psychology and earned a concentration in Spanish.
She utilizes her Spanish skills working in a Lehigh Valley Hospital emergency department in inner city Allentown. Nani joined the DeSales PA faculty in July 2013 and will continue clinical work in the emergency dept. She has a passion for medical missions and was the first DeSales PA student to establish an international elective, working in the jungles of the Peruvian Amazon.
Additionally, her travels have taken her to Zambia, Uganda, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. She is team member of a newly established non-profit organization called One Million Children, whose mission is to provide fresh water, health care and minister the Gospel to one million children in sub-Saharan Africa. She plans to return to the Zambian bush with medical teams to work hand-in-hand with Zambian physicians to educate local community health workers to eventually sustain and manage their own medical clinic.
Recently nominated to the board of Physician Assistants for Global Health (PAGH), she is eager to promote cross cultural awareness and serve as a resource for physician assistants who want to work or volunteer in medically under served areas.
